Cookie Policy

What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences and maintain your session.
Cookies We Use
We use essential cookies to run the service, and one optional analytics cookie:
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Supabase authentication session | Session / 1 year |
| sb-*-auth-token-code-verifier | PKCE code verifier for secure OAuth | Session |
| kid_session | Keeps a child's device signed in after the family access code is entered | 1 year |
| parent_session | Keeps the Parents Area unlocked after you enter your PIN | 24 hours |
| ph_*_posthog | Optional analytics (PostHog): anonymous visitor and session IDs, and your account ID once you sign in | 1 year |
Analytics
We use PostHog, an analytics service hosted in the US, to understand which pages and features people use so we can improve Classlinks. PostHog sets the ph_*_posthog cookie above and keeps similar data in your browser's local storage and session storage. It records the pages you visit, the features you use, basic device and browser details, and your IP address.
When you sign in, this activity is linked to your account ID, your email address and your family's name. When a child uses Classlinks with an access code, their activity is linked to the family, never to the child as a person. We never record your screen.
Analytics is optional. If you turn it off, PostHog stops collecting data in this browser and deletes the IDs it stored here. We remember your choice in this browser.
Third-Party Cookies
We do not use advertising cookies. If you connect your Google Drive account, Google may set its own cookies during the OAuth authorization flow — those are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
Managing Cookies
Essential cookies are needed to sign in and use the service, so blocking them will stop Classlinks from working. Analytics is not needed: turn it off with the button above, or block the ph_*_posthog cookie in your browser settings, and Classlinks works the same.
Changes to This Policy
If we change the cookies or analytics we use, we will update this page and notify users where required. For questions about our cookie usage, contact us at hello@classlinks.app.
